CallMe Codec capability is now fully-integrated into the RØDECaster Pro II and RØDECaster Duo Software providing Broadcast-quality remote audio connectivity. It is called RØDE CallMe.

RØDE CallMe capability is included in the latest RØDE firmware which can be downloaded to the RØDECaster directly. There is no longer the need to upload CallMe-RC via USB as happened before.

RØDE offers Monthly and Annual Subscriptions for all RØDE CallMe tiers, plus CallMe-RC will now replaced by the RØDE CallMe Pro tier but as before with CallMe-RC, this is a perpetual permanent licence that does not expire and can be moved to another compatible RØDECaster if needed (conditions apply), only available direct from Vortex and its Distributors.

Vortex is now a RØDE Dealer and can provide the complete range RØDE Broadcast and Podcast products including RØDECasters, Microphones and Headphones – www.vtx.uk/rode

To enable the new CallMe functionality just update your RØDECaster to the latest firmware. You will need to register for a RØDE account on www.account.rode.com to take advantage of the other RØDE CallMe tiers.

For some time, we have been working with RØDE to fully integrate CallMe IP Codec capability within the RØDECaster Pro II and Duo – https://vtx.uk/vortex-rode/

For users, it transforms remote content creation for the RØDECaster Pro II and RØDECaster Duo delivering ultra-low latency, studio-quality remote connectivity through seamless integration of Vortex’s well-established CallMe Codec capability.

Available now via a free firmware update, RØDE CallMe Lite enables creators to connect remotely over Wi-Fi or Ethernet, without reliance on intermediary software, complex setups, or additional gear.  Powered by CallMe’s secure, fully-integrated SIP IP audio connectivity, users can now immediately connect to another RØDECaster Pro II or Duo.

Also included is a 5 hour trial of RØDE Web-to-RØDECaster audio calling which provides a way to connect from a web browser to that RØDECaster.  Vortex still offers the full version of CallMe Click-&-Connect which can provide many additional capabilities including Station Branding that the Contributor will see, and mapping to one or more compatible back-end codecs (which could also include RØDECasters).

RØDE CallMe offers three flexible subscription tiers to meet the diverse needs of content creators at every level – and a Perpetual RØDE CallMe Pro Licence is available from Vortex and its Distributors.

RØDE CallMe Lite
Available at no cost via a firmware update, RØDE CallMe Lite supports one remote contributor (one CallMe channel), offering up to 10 hours of RØDECaster-to-RØDECaster audio calls per month along with a 5-hour trial of Web-to-RØDECaster calling.

RØDE CallMe
RØDE CallMe lets creators unlock extended capabilities, including support for two remote contributors (two CallMe channels) and unlimited RØDECaster-to-RØDECaster and Web-to-RØDECaster audio calls.

RØDE CallMe Pro – developed for Broadcast
Unlocks advanced tools designed for professional broadcasters.  A one-time purchase perpetual licence is also available from Vortex and its Distributors. In addition to all standard CallMe features, it offers multi-guest support (three CallMe Channels), a fully integrated IP audio codec with third-party interoperability, and advanced SIP calling with full protocol support. Pro users also benefit from resilient multi-network streaming with external 4G/5G support, broadcast-grade codec options with adjustable jitter buffering, and flexible control via touchscreen, web UI, and CallMe Hub.  Like all CallMe hardware products, RØDE CallMe Pro provides up to 22kHz low-delay audio using Opus, G.722 or G.711 algorithms with Ethernet, Wi-Fi and Mobile connectivity and RFC7198 fully-compliant SIP Dual Streaming to provide reliable resilient connectivity. A 14-day free trial is also available for the Pro tier, with the flexibility to cancel anytime.

RØDE CallMe Pro Perpetual (permanent) Licence is only available from Vortex and its Distributors providing the same capability and automatic software updates but without the subscription expiring.  The Licence can be moved to another compatible RØDECaster if needed (conditions apply).

The updated CallMe-RC (RØDE CallMe Pro) provides fully integrated IP audio connectivity for RØDECaster Pro II and RØDECaster Duo.  Unlike other codec solutions, there is no need for any modification or external interface or codec.  The enhancement provides a cost-effective one-box solution for Outside Broadcast, Podcasting and Web Streaming with Cabled, Wi-Fi and Mobile internet connectivity.

Upgraded units have the same straightforward operation as CallMe-T hardware codecs, providing up to 22kHz low-delay Opus Audio, compatible with most manufacturers’ codecs that support the same standards.

As with all hardware CallMe products, RØDE CallMe Pro supports RFC7198 fully-compliant SIP Dual Streaming to provide reliable resilient connectivity.  RØDE CallMe Pro (CallMe-RC) provides three separate stereo CallMe Codec channels that can connect to three different destinations. For example one CallMe Channel can be used for 2-way Stereo Programme Audio, another for 2-way Talkback whilst the third could be connected to a Guest Contributor or indeed to another studio.

RØDE revolutionised audio for Podcasters and content creators, producing the world’s first integrated podcast production console and the RØDECaster Pro II series is now the industry standard, allowing anyone to create incredible-sounding content with ease. With the CallMe capability, audio can now be streamed Live to the Studio over the public internet plus Guest Contributors can connect directly to the mixer without them needing any special hardware or software download.

RØDE CallMe Pro provides up to 22kHz low-delay audio using Opus, G.722 or G.711 algorithms with Ethernet, Wi-Fi and Mobile connectivity and RFC7198 fully-compliant SIP Dual Streaming to provide reliable resilient connectivity. The well-liked Quick Dial memories for one-touch connection and audio channel routing with SmartStream™ are also supported.  Being fully-integrated, Codec audio can be routed flexibly to/from Outputs/Inputs on the mixer via the existing RØDE audio routing settings.

Cost-effective off-the-shelf battery packs are available to provide 7-hour stand-alone operation.

FOR OUTSIDE BROADCAST – connect your RØDECaster to a cabled, Wi-Fi or mobile internet connection, touch one of the on-screen quick-dial buttons (or enter the remote destination details using the on-screen keyboard) and connect Live to your SIP-compatible Opus/G.722 Studio Codec for low-delay 2-channel 20kHz Broadcast Audio.  Like all CallMe hardware codecs, RØDE CallMe Pro provides up to 22kHz low-delay audio and RFC7198 fully-compliant SIP Dual Streaming to provide reliable resilient connectivity.

The 8x QuickDial buttons shown on the RØDECaster screen store destination and codec information allowing connection at the touch-of-a-button. RØDE CallMe can be controlled and set up directly on the mixer, via the RØDECaster App, by using the in-built web interface or remotely via the CallMe Hub.

FOR PODCASTING – the CallMe add-on has another trick up its sleeve: a CallMe Click-&-Connect account can be registered to the unit to let Guest Contributors connect live with 20kHz audio without them needing their own hardware codec or having to download special software. Anyone with a Smartphone, Tablet or computer can join the conversation using only a web browser. Just send a CallMe link to your Guest Contributor who simply clicks on the CallMe button to connect Live to your RØDECaster with 20kHz broadcast-quality audio.
