VX8500-II/D - 16x16 HD/SD-SDI Serial Digital Matrix Routing Switcher
The VX8500-II/D works with both HD-SDI and SD-SDI serial digital video signals, with or without embedded audio. It is low-cost and ideal for smaller studio and post-production applications with up to sixteen SDI Serial Digital Video sources that can be switched to any (one or more) of the sixteen SDI Serial Digital destinations.
It complies with SMPTE 259M (SD-SDI) and SMPTE 292M (HD-SDI) and features automatic equalization and re-clocking on all channels with equalization at 1.485Gb/s up to 140m of Belden 1694A cable and up to 200m at 270Mb/s.

There is the option to add a stereo audio switching layer within the same switching electronics rack to provide sixteen unbalanced or balanced stereo audio sources that can be connected to any (one or more) of the sixteen outputs. There is an optional Volume/Tone module that provides both front panel and remote audio volume and tone levels including bass, treble, balance, input trim and mute with the possibility to adjust each output individually for optimal audio quality in any environment. Salvo commands allow adjusting all zones at once.
The front panel controller with LCD display can be removed and replaced with a blank panel for secure operations. An RS-232/422 serial control port is provided as standard together with IP (Ethernet) control capability. The VX8500-II/D is fully compatible with existing Vortex rackmount or desktop controllers and Creston, AMX and Leightronix event and touchscreen controllers. V-FlexConnect control software for MS Windows is included at no extra cost, providing simple X-Y control and status for the complete switcher.
The VX-8500-II/D complements the VX-8500-II family of high bandwidth analogue matrix routing switchers for composite, S-Video, RGB, YUV analogue component video and audio which provide full-matrix switching of multiple levels of video with active, fully buffered, high bandwidth crosspoint modules to allow composite video or S-video to be switched simultaneously without crosstalk.
